The San
Francisco Planning and Urban Renewal Association (SPUR), the American Institute
of Architects (AIA), and the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition (SFHAC) are
hosting a luncheon forum on “Making Use of Challenging Sites for Housing.” This
noontime event is scheduled on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the SPUR Urban
Center, 654 Mission St., San Francisco, CA.
The expected
discussion is going to center on San Francisco’s growing demand for housing
development that far exceeds the city’s capacity to accommodate and supply the
needs of its constituents. Creative ideas are specifically needed in order to
develop innovative solutions in maximizing the difficult sites intended for
construction and utilization.
Invited to
speak and contribute to the forum’s inputs are three of San Francisco’s
esteemed designers who are known for their expert handling of situations such
as this. They are Stanley Saitowitz of Natoma Architects, Anne Fougeron of
Fougeron Architecture, and Leonardo Zulberberg of California College of the
Arts.
SPUR, AIA,
and SFHAC members are free to attend the gathering, while non-members will be
charged $10 each. Those who are thinking of bringing their own packed lunches
are welcome to do so.
