The San Francisco Museum and Historical Society is inviting
everyone to their 2013 Annual Awards Luncheon happening on Monday, September
23, 2013 from 11:00 in the morning to 1:30 in the afternoon at the Peacock Room
of the mark Hopkins Hotel located at 1 Nob Hill at Mason and California Streets.
This
event seeks to honor individuals, organizations, and businesses that have made
significant contributions to the historic fabric of San Francisco.
This
year, the San Francisco Living Treasure
Award for extraordinary contributions to San Francisco history will be
given to Amy Meyer, Advocate for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Meanwhile, the William C. Ralston Award for a company's contributions to San
Francisco history will be presented to Gump’s, Purveyer of luxury gifts,
jewelry, artful objects and home décor (presentation of this award is supported
by Union Bank of California).
In
addition, Awards of Merit for contributions to San Francisco history will be
given to the following:
- The Heritage (San Francisco Ladies’ Protection and Relief Society), Residential life care retirement community
- ODC, Dance company and school
- Cable Car Museum, Dedicated to the preservation of cable car history
- Chinese Historical Society of America, Devoted to the documentation, study and presentation of Chinese American history
- Elaine Badgley Arnoux, Artist
